Data Report - 2020 Global Gaming Industry Acquisitions Reached $19.24 Billion
According to a recent report by Buy Shares, a business information website, the global gaming industry has seen $19.24 billion in acquisitions through November of this year.

According to the report, there have been 37 acquisitions in the global gaming industry this year, of which the top 10 deals are worth $17.68 billion. The largest acquisition was Microsoft's acquisition of Bethersda Studios and its parent company, ZeniMax Media, for $7.5 billion.
Zynga's acquisition of Peak Games for $1.85 billion was the fourth largest, the company also acquiring the Turkish super recreational game developer, Rollic for $180 million.

Other notable acquisitions in the gaming industry this year, according to Buy Shares, include Macarthur Fortune Holdings' acquisition of MMORPG maker, Jagex for $530 million, and Take-Two Interactive's $192 million acquisition of the mobile gaming developer. Another note-worhty acquisition is Enclayer Group's acquisition of game console manufacturer, Saber Interactive.
Buy Shares reports, "It is important to note that no industry is immune to COVID-19 epidemic. The epidemic has impacted M&A and acquisition activity in every major industry. However, due to rising consumer demand for games, development teams of all sizes have caught investors’ eyes. Most investors are still looking for the best opportunities to invest."
