Fleets: Twitter Launches Disappearing Tweets Tool
Twitter has recently launched a new feature worldwide called ‘fleets’, it has previously announced its plan for these ephemeral tweets, dubbed “fleets”, and tested the feature worldwide. Now, any mobile Twitter user, no matter where they live, and no matter what platform they are on, can use this feature.
They will be available at the top of users’ home timelines on Twitter similar to Stories presented in bubble shaped chat box. Twitter hopes that the new features will allow users to express their thoughts and feelings more casually, at the same time there's no pressure to rack up Retweets and Likes by using esoteric words. The company said that Fleets began rolling out on Android and iOS today.

At the very basic level, Fleets is a Stories clone that draws on all the best ideas realized by Instagram and Snapchat. Fleets can share text, reply to others’ tweets, or post videos. You can get the same background colour and overlay text options on other messaging apps. It has a short-live span function and each message will disappear after 24 hours.
You can also click on a Fleets message to directly reply a message or emoticon to the creator. This will initiate a DM conversation, similar to the Stories reply process on Instagram. Twitter said it will also introduce stickers and live streaming at some point in the future.
The company said that anyone who follows you can view your Fleets by visiting your profile, and it is possible to divide the large number of comments on Twitter every moment into a more digestible format, which may trigger platform users to change the way they communicate online.
